Our employees are dedicated to teaching others about proper waste and recycling practices.
Various activities that support community education include community clean ups, visiting
boy scout meetings, and presenting to schools the proper methods of disposing waste. In
addition, employees participate in community service and volunteer programs held throughout
the year. Click here for more educational aids, used to teach our customers about waste and

At the beginning of the summer, American Disposal Employees were invited to present a recycling seminar and partner
with a group called KIDS (Kids In Deed Succeed) in Purcellville, VA, who wanted to devise a better recycling plan for
their community. American Disposal also provided outreach education and fun recycling activities at the community's
RidgeFest event last month. Founded in 2010, KIDS (Kids In Deed Succeed), is a volunteer service organization for kids by kids.
It organizes projects that get other children to solve problems in their community, as they are trained to become future leaders
and caring citizens of their communituy. Armed with the knowledge they gained from American Disposal's Outreach Team, KIDS developed
a public service announcement (PSA) to raise community awareness and an incentive (reward) plan to motivate members of the community
to recycle responsibly. Prior to launching their PSA, KIDS took baselines of the amount of materials recycled and how well the materials
were secured so that they do not become windblown litter in the Purcellville Ridge community, and KIDS will reassess recycling practices over
the next few weeks to gauge the effectiveness of the PSA and incentive plan in getting community members to recycle responsibly. The PSA can
be seen on YouTube.
KIDS founder Chelsea N. also presented Gabby S. a gift certificate donated by American Disposal to reward the winner of Most Responsible Recycler.
Great job, KIDS! You are all super-recyclers, and thank you for teaching your community about the importance of recycling.
